I don't get much feedback about "In This Corner." That's okay, I don't expect any. But I was Googling myself today (how else am I going to find this stuff?) and happened upon this blog posting from Oct. 4, 2008 by a fellow named Johnny Northside.
He is commenting on the comic about reusing phone books, but he makes some overall statements about all the "In This Corner" comics.
The Pioneer Press has a cartoon called "in this corner" (sic) by David Steinlicht, which I normally find so bland I can only commit to skimming it for anything of mild interest. But today it got my full attention...
In Friday's cartoon, the round-headed "everyman" character who (tediously) populates the (drab and lifeless) cartoon world of "in this corner" listed some uses for a phone books.
I don't know why the name of the comic gets a [sic], but Johnny did spell my name right.
It's good to hear from someone who doesn't feel he has to be polite.
Thanks for your comments, Johnny Northside!
